On Thursday 8th May Fortrose and Rosemarkie golf club welcomed ten of our senior gents. Although there was a distant haze and a slight breeze the sun shone continuously and the 18 holes were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Nobody seem to lose a ball to the sea during the day was but there were a number of heads disappearing into the gorse bushes with backsides protruding. The golf was enjoyed by all and the best score was from Ian Philp, which was no surprise since he knows the course better than the rest.

Seven Gairloch senior gents travelled to Ullapool to support their Senior Open.
The day started sunny and stayed dry until all but the last group had completed
their round. The golf was enjoyed by all. Congratulations to Pete Meredith
(Gairloch) for winning the group one section (h < 18) and to Bruce Jeffery
who
was placed second in group 2 but with the same score as the winner. Our thanks
to those at Ullapool for organising the event |

At the 2008 Badachro Inn Corporate day the sun shone and there was warmth in the air, if not the breeze, for the 57 golfers competing to win a new Mini. Unfortunately - nobody managed the required hole in one at the 9th - but everyone enjoyed the colour and buzz of the competition. Local and visiting golfers were treated to an excellent day at the club followed by an lively evening at the Badachro Inn where the prize giving took place. | March 31st |
Unlike
the previous Saturday, when the clubhouse opened with a supporting act of snow,
Saturday 29th March brought 24 golfers to play in the annual Opening
Match. This is a social event for the members but tension hung in the air highlighted by bright and sunny conditions as the men considered their loss to the ladies in the previous two years out of three. Both sides, fortified by bacon rolls supplied by the men’s captain, Dave Barclay, enjoyed a spring like atmosphere for the round. Young Neil MacLeod led the men’s charge with a stunning score of 44 stableford points whilst Eileen Beck, Jennifer Robertson and Margo Barr all valiantly fought back coming home with 34 points each. Their fight was not enough to stop the best 6 scores from the gent’s beating the best six of the ladies and, with the men now breathing easier for next year, and the woman confident they had just been kind to us this year, both teams went home knowing they would win next year. |

The
Easter week end was quiet! Not many golfers - not enough snow for skiing. Saturday sees the Ladies against Gents match - mountain rescue dogs and search teams are on stand by! Perhaps an avalanche of entries? |

Feb 29th 2008 |
A group of 10
members of the men's senior section visited Invergordon on Wednesday 27th
February, taking advantage of their offer of a round of golf together with a
bacon roll and a bowl of soup. The sun managed to shine for much of the time
which gave an incentive to play well but was more than offset by the strong to
gale force winds and quantities of water lying on the course. The day finished
with a short gathering in the clubhouse for well earned refreshment whilst
looking out across the Cromarty Firth and the slopes of Ben Wyvis. |

The visitors book has been rebuilt due to spamming
attacks and to counteract any further interference a screening process has been
implemented. Unfortunately this will delay the uploading of comments but is
considered a necessity to protect our users. |

2008 |
Paracetamol Open a huge success. With a large turnout on a summers like day on 2nd January organiser John Beck had his work cut out to get everyone started and back before darkness fell. Despite the military precision in organisation his tactics for winning the first trophy of the year were thwarted by your ungrateful web master who somehow managed to finish 1 Stableford point ahead of him with 36 points. ☺I have been told my handicap is now under review! 1st lady was Margo Barr with 32 points. The day was made a huge success due to the efforts of Julie and Carol who produced mulled wine and bacon rolls at the half way mark and served home made soup from chefs Anne and Rhona after the event - you were the ladies who made a good day great, Thank You. |

Just in time for the new year we present our new and hopefully improved website with easier to follow links and a brand new banner! There is also an interactive guestbook for you to place your comments, both of the site, and the experience you've had at our club. We hope you will make use of it. Please feel free to make suggestions for improvements to the website. All club scores are now located in the members pages on the bottom of the links list with an archive of years gone by which can be downloaded or surfed on screen. The downloads are all in PDF format which most computers can read easily. If you have any problems, drop me an email from here and I'll do my best to help out As this is a west coast design and build......not everything is quite finished☺ |

October 2007 |
The October annual dinner dance was once again firmly put back on the golf club calendar by Harry and George who are now both smiling! They have every right to do so as the members attending our first dinner dance for a number of years were more than full of praise for the event. |
