Friday 15th August saw a lone competitor arrive in the evening to sign up for the 9 hole medal. He asked the secretary, who had been told the previous day at a golf lesson - "yes, you have a lovely relaxed swing - it's just that you have totally the WRONG swing" and was therefore not a contender, what should happen. In a snap decision it was decided Mike Powley should be declared virtual winner of the August mini medal - he will also be entitled to a virtual prize!

clubhouse. The Competition Convener, John Beck, will try to rearrange this game
but initial proposals make it more likely that the 2nd round will be played only
by those who started the 1st round to ascertain the winner - but not necessarily
